Welcome to my new website and blog!

Who is Leanne Reis?

I am a Southern California girl, originally from the San Gabriel Valley. In high school, I studied photography and animation, taking my 35mm camera with me wherever I went. It was gifted to me by my late father. He purchased it in Thailand while in the Vietnam War.

Following high school, I found myself at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. One restless year later I was inspired to take flight, literally, and applied to become a flight attendant with American Airlines in 1996. I guess art school just wasn’t the inspiration I was looking for! Luckily, after a few months of training in Dallas, TX, I was based in LAX and spent the next five years flying the skies of California for American Eagle in a Saab 340B turboprop. Call me crazy, but I loved every minute spent in that tiny turboprop. With 34 passengers and trusting a crew of two, I happily soared over the west coast.

In 1999, my boyfriend of five years, Rich, and I finally decided to tie the knot and get married. My photography career really started to take off and by 2000 I was faced with having to choose between my love of travel and my love of photography. I decided to turn in my wings and took on the responsibility and freedom of running my own professional photography business.

Since then, my business has evolved from the good old days of film to running an all-digital professional photography studio in Camarillo, CA.

My passion for travel didn’t depart with my wings. My family and I spend much of our free weekends in the summers on the road in our little pop-up trailer, “Lucy (Loosey).” Lucy nearly lost a wheel on her maiden voyage from the dealership due to many “loose” lug nuts! When I’m not photographing summer weddings, we can usually be found in Zion, Big Sur, Tule River, Yosemite, Mammoth, Tahoe or Yellowstone – just a few of our favorites. The Reis family loves hiking, rock climbing, geocache, and exploring the country together.

Our sense of adventure doesn’t stop there; we are scouts through and through. My husband and I spend much of our free time volunteering as mentors to our young scouts. Zane (17) is our Eagle Scout, and Zada (12) is our Cadette Girl Scout. We take Scout Law seriously and apply it to our family’s foundation. A Scout is: trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a bit. I look forward to your phone call, learning all about you, and working with you to help make your memories of your special day a true vision of the love that you are celebrating!

Best Wishes,

Leanne Reis
